Let's Celebrate! I am officially a STAY AT HOME MOM, again.
That is right, I signed the papers resigning from my job this week. It has actually taken me a little time to come to terms with this life style change. It feels weird. My family is already benefiting from me being at home, the house is cleaner. (me letting out a little laugh) The whole reason that I have resigned from my job is due to the health of my sweet daughter, Annika. Right now she is not able to attend school due to all the health problems she is having. The whole post could be all about her health. But, I want to talk about Celebrating!

Years ago, I was an avid Oprah watcher and follower, I heard this amazing story. I had shared it with my Hubby. Who remembered it when I broke the news to him that I had to resign from my job. My version of the story goes like this: A husband comes home after loosing his job. He breaks the news to his wife. Who pulls out Champage glasses and say's "lets Celebrate, you never liked that job to begin with and now you can find your dream job". He did just that a short time later.
(now remember this is my version of that episode that I can't find) Anyway's, you get the idea. My sweet Hubby say's to me "Let's Celebrate with In and Out Burgers, and Cheese cake," and talk about your dreams. That is what we did!
Oh Congratulations!!! I have never regretted quitting my teaching job. Yes, like you, the transition took a bit of time, but I have fully embraced my current job!!!! I am sorry to read of your daughter's health concerns. I will add her to my daily prayer list.

Thank you Valerie for adding her to your prayer list. I know it will be a blessing to her and to me.
DeleteHey, congratulations! I love the celebration with cheesecake. Your family sounds a lot like ours. We love cheesecake!
ReplyDeleteI am jealous. I would love to be "just" a stay at home mom and not try to stay at home all day plus work at night. Notice just is in quotes because really a mom is the most important job! I'm sorry Annika is having so much trouble and I hope you can give her the help and support she needs right now. Best of luck to you!
I'm sorry your daughter is struggling with her health. I hope she's able to get better. But congrats to you!!! And awesome that you can celebrate. I was a stay at home mom before my divorce and it was such a blessing. Hard in many, many ways, but the best job ever!!
